Trudeau assures that direct flight of Toronto-Amritsar will start soon

The demand for the Punjabis living in Canada to start the Toronto-Amritsar Air Canada flight has long been visible. Canada's Prime Minister Justin Trudeau assured the Central Food Processing Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal that in view of the large population of Punjabis in Canada, they will take a step forward in this direction.

Central Food Processing Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal told the Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau that the Punjabis living in Punjab are facing many difficulties due to lack of direct flights from Punjab to Canada,while a large number of Punjabi daily travels from Canada to Punjab and from Punjab to Canada. She said that now Punjabis have to go to Delhi to get the flight and you have to land at Delhi Airport when you land from Canada. This destroys both Punjabi's time and money.

At the same time, she proposed to the Canadian government to jointly celebrate the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev with the celebration of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee.Harsimrat gave both of these suggestions to the Canadian Prime Minister during the India-Canada Business session and Trudeau assured them that they would consider both of these suggestions.

Earlier, Union Food Processing Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal called upon Canadian companies to invest in the Food Processing Sector of India, saying that FDI in this sector is on the rise as there is immense potential for development in this sector

Addressing the program, Badal said that India and Canada had done $ 8 billion in business in 2016. With the FDI in India's food sector, it can grow faster. She said that the country had a direct foreign exchange of $60 billion in 2016-17. There is a potential of $ 60 billion in retail business in India, of which 70 percent is related to the food sector only.
